Newcastle Beach
Just down the hill is Newcastle Beach (and the Ocean Baths) home to Australia's premier surf carnival Surf Fest each April. This is a great place to either go surfing, play some beach volleyball or just catch some rays.
The Foreshore
This is one of Newcastle's evening playgrounds featuring a range of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. A great spot for a night out on the town, or some fresh air and exercise during the day.
Darby St
Less than 5 minutes and you are in the cosmopolitan food centre of Newcastle. Here there are restaurants and cafes of every culinary persuasion. And for coffee lovers this is the next best place to heaven! By night this becomes another one of Newcastle's popular gathering places.
